What cruise will I be going on at Nærøyfjorden?

We use the best electrical cruises available from cruise operator Norways Best in Nærøyfjorden. Capacity on the cruise is max 400 people. The cruise ride lasts for 2 hours. They serve light food/snacks and beverages on the cruise.

The modern vessels are designed to maximize the sightseeing experience. They are fully electric* with no noise or emissions disrupting the atmosphere of peace and tranquillity. Here you will get the feeling of gliding through the fjord, very different from what you experience on the more traditional passenger vessels.

Tall panoramic windows give a full view to the marvellous landscape of the calm fjord, tall mountains, and beautiful waterfalls when sitting inside the lounges.

The walkways outside are inspired by the winding trails going up the steep mountains next to the fjord. There is at least 1 meter railing for all passengers, giving you plenty of space to enjoy the view. The full universal layout means everyone can get around the ship inside and outside as they wish.

Due to the raw and unpredictable nature of the Nærøyfjord, route changes may happen at short notice during the winter season. In that case, the boat will run a return trip from Flåm, with the option of a connecting bus between Gudvangen and Flåm.

Can you reserve seats on the trains?

No, we can't reserve seats on the Flåmsbana. You are given a wagon by the conductor and its free seating in the wagon.

On the next train from Myrdal-Bergen, there are sometimes assigned seats and sometimes free seating depending on the train time and train type on your tour. You will get information from your driver/guide on the tour date.
